ICoastConsult is owned by Ian Heijne, a Chartered Coastal Engineer who has worked in coastal development, coastal management and coastal engineering design since 1980.

I founded ICoastConsult to provide independent advice to public and private sector clients on all matters coastal.

Whether its a new site or an existing one, I can guide you through the issues around coastal processes, climate change and a ream of regulations facing any activities close to the shoreline.

I have 40 years’ experience in scheme development including: Chesil Beach Coast Protection Scheme (ICE Alfred Carr Award), Newbiggin Bay Coast Protection Scheme (Winner of the Best Civil Engineer Project, British Construction Industry Awards, 2008) and the West Sands Coast Protection Scheme. I have managed government frameworks which delivered thousands of properties from flood risk.

My passion is working with organisations to quickly understand the issues to be addressed around coastal management and seek sustainable answers to any challenge ahead

ICoastConsult brings a broad skills set with wide knowledge of the legislation requirements for any new scheme. More importantly ICoastConsult can gather information from available resources (such as government databases and Lidar Surveys) to speedily get to grips with any site or location.

ICoastConsult is competent in both Geographical Information Systems and 3d Design.
